sounds like you got off pretty good and inexpensive for your dash. I just purchased every single piece to compeletely replace my dash, came up to about $5k for everything......I did not want refurbished guages and I am going for a certain look for mine. I also got the carbon fiber guages, they are bada$$!
|
I'd love to paint my plain white dash but, any idea where to get the lettering to label everything again?:drink:

SpeedFreek,
Have you thought about wrapping it?? I dont think it would be too expensive and they should be able to make it any color you want. Just a thought. |

Didnt need GPS or depth finder. Im talking straight gauges were about 700 bucks minus speedo, dash plate 300, plus a steering a wheel. So either you guys are going all out or spending money blindly.
i dont call it spending $$$$ blindly but to get a updated look and have GPS, depth finder, all match and not look buggered up :drink: any completed pics ???? |

The company the wraps it can print whatever you want on the wrap. Just like a boat wrap. They can print the engravings.

Me too. Im sure it could be done for under $150. Just an option. If i had a dated dash i would do it but im happy with mine.
it would have to look dayum good to spend all that time taking the dash panel apart and re soldering all them switch & indicators :drink:and i've never seen Vinyl that can look like paint/clear or powdercoat job |

Thanks,
Its amazing what some paint and new bezels will do, definitely worth it. I did add a GPS speedo at the same time. |

Wildman...I've got 2 holes in my new dash that the old one didn't have. One on either side of my speedo and tach. I noticed you have a couple of indicator lights between your "tachs" and speedo. What are your lights for? I'm thinking if I can't find something useful to fill the holes I'll just put a dummy light in them.

You can wire in some LED warning lights so that if your high water temp or low oil psi,etc switches get tripped(IE warning buzzer goes off) the red led will light up letting you know there is a problem

Does anyone know where you can find these gauges? gaffrig has discontuined them, I think I have a faulty oil pressure gauge. The needle jumps from 80 to 60 to 20 to 40 to 60, 40, 20, 0 then alarms! Only at idle, only on the water. I'm going to shoot a video of this when I go out again.

I have replaced the sender with a new one from gaffrig. Doesn't the sender take it ground right off the motor? When I took the older one off (which looked pretty new like someone before me has tried this) it had looked like they had put silcone on the threads....but the new sender did the same thing. I have just did an oil change with new filter we shall see once I'm out on the water because I cannot create this problem while she's on the trailer. For 3 years my solution has been after the alarms go off shut down reset the motor start it up and leave it in neutral to raise the rpm's to keep the pressure up while getting out of the bay. Once the 5 mile and hour bouy is past she good to go!

Send it to Livorsi and they can fix it. If they can't I am getting all new gauges for my 47' Fountain and I will have plenty of old gauges. |

Obviously I dont have a fountain but this might give you an idea of what vinyl can look like..Its a great way to update a dash without spending an arm and a leg. I only spent about $75 having this vinyl designed, printed and shipped.
