That's a large machine to handle the boat like that!

At 1st thought that looks like a 27 when compared to the lift, but then I saw the stairs leading to the drivers seat and also the small forklift that was dwarf t next to the big hoss.

Why do they raise the boats so high when traveling with them?

Standard rule for fork trucks is a few inches off ground.

US1 Fountain Great Question!!! If you notice there is a red/orange mark that he stops at. I had a chance to talk to the operator. I didn't think about asking why so high but I did ask him if he ever dumped a boat, he has not. However I do have another video I will post you should see how LOW!! those forks will go! The other video is 21.6 MB so I got some resizing to do bare with me I have lots of photos too they also need resizing be back soon!

Bull driver at my old marina said it was so they could see where they were going.

I have a question, when I was talking with marines in St Pete, they all said that I would get nicks and gel pops rack storing.

Have you guys noticed this?

None of the racks had steps in the bunks like the trailers, does this matter?

You really should have the rack bunks modified for the steps in your hull. Storing on straight bunks will point load the hull at the steps and cause issues. Some rack storage places won't do that if you don't have an "assigned" rack. But I would convince them otherwise since that is an expensive boat you are storing.

Fountain can (or did) provide a template for modifying a the rack bunk for your particular hull.
