Why didn't you just use a late model windshield? That is what i did on my 47

My guess is because the late model windshield from Fountain is around $7,000, and that's not installed and not painted to match the boat.

7k from Fountain plus cray shipping price. We installed all new rubbers, as the old ones were worn, which we had to order from Fountain. That accounted for about 600.00 of the cost. We also installed a full new top rail. Could've done it much cheaper pieced together, but wanted it to remain factory. Also, the paint was around 500.00 for the custom pearl colors, epoxy primer, sandblasting, etc.

alot of items from fountain incure heavy shipping costs because they add an extra charge for crate material, in most cases $125+ before the shipping fee
