Throttles Fall Down While Cruising
Once i get my throttles positioned where i want, they start to fall down and the boat slows unless i keep my hand on them the whole time. Is there a way to adjust these so they dont move so easy?
thanks, Jay |
Yes, Look under the dash at the throttles, there is what looks like a set screw to adjust the tension on them.
|
Awesome! thanks, Wildman! I knew there had to be something under there but since the boat is in the upholstery shop, I can't check it out just yet. I appreciate it!

From the top shove them forward and you should see an allen head set screw between the rubber behind the lever.

So you are saying from above the dash, push the throttles WOT and move the rubber flap and I will see the screw? Not from under the dash?

I think the throttles that click as you go are way better
|
As stated above, you can access the set screw at full throttle between the rubber inserts or from below. Throttles have a spring under the set screw that pushes a piece of delrin (plastic) into the hub for friction.

here you go, this may help.
You are trying to get to the set screws you see pointing down in the picture. |
I adjust the friction on mine from above the dash. Full forward. Walk in the park
