Default What do we think about this one?

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o39700-en.html

My step father is looking to upgrade to his 2nd boat. 1st boat was a 21' Baja w/454, he's looking to upgrade. Spends the winter in Florida (Gulf side), might bring it up here to LI sound for the summer.

Anyone know this boat? Looks clean, how is the price? There are a few similar ones in the classifieds, for close to the same money.

Also I'm not too familiar with the single engine Fountains, what speed/RPM will this boat cruise at?

Thanks ahead for any input.

I know this boat ... it is mine. This is our 3rd baoating season with this boat.Call or e-mail. Performance report says 80 mph. It runs 76-78 with normal passenger and fuel load. Boat cruises at ~ 38 - 45 mph at 3400 - 3600 rpm, tabs at 3, drive at 2 or 3 on the indicators. All of my friends have sold their performance boats and got into older muscle cars. Now it is just my wife and kids when we go out to the lake or Ohio river, if we even go out. This is our 3rd 29 Fever. We had a 2000 with a 500 EFI, a 2002 with a 575SCi, and this one. We also had a 292 Fastec for a short time, too (nothing against Formula's, we just didn't care for it setup/performance ... it did have 13 cupholders, though ).

If you are looking for a nice boat, trust Bob on this. I have known Bob for several years and he is very precise on everything he does and owns. (After all he is an engineeer) But you can bet it is a very nice boat and well maintained. You will not go wrong dealing with him.

nice looking boat, but if you go maybe 2-3 years older you might be able to cut that price by 20-30 grand. Looks nice but seems kind of high IMO for todays economy

Nards, IMO this is a good deal for this boat. Are you qualified to have an opinion on this boat????

No are you. Im just taking market considerations and what I have seen out there. And I have stated before go a few years older and you cut that price by 20 grand. Thats all.

I do not know if I am "qualified" or not...........but I was a Fountain dealer for 22 years. If I could buy a 2003-04 29 Fountain w/525 for 35-45K I would gladly take as many as I could find for that price. Please tell me where they all are.

Price is about right, boat has already taken its big drop and will not lose 50% of its value in three years.Boat prices have flattened out and while I do not believe used prices will climb keep in mind not much was built new between 2009-2011.This among other things has help stabilize boat prices.
