Default Fuel Pressure Switch for Electric fuel pump Multiple tanks

Anybody know of fuel pressure swtch to kill the engine before it runs out of fuel? Mine runs out of fuel ( then i have to switch tanks) then fries the fuel pump because it runs dry til the carbs run out of fuel. Tired of buying new pumps. I gotta carry a spare pump everywhere I go.

My rear tanks guages say empty when they get to 1/2 tank, which doesn't help.

I would think I could run an ignition kill hooked to a fuel pressre swith? Any Ideas?

If wired just to a buzzer, you'd still have the time from no fuel (buzzer sounds) to getting off plain and shutting down the motor (powering off the pump). That still allows for a dry running pump.

You have peaked my curiousity though, how many tanks does your 27 have?

3 tanks. I was thinking of just turning it off at the buzzer. Dead plane it. She does that fine.

You'd have to add a low level float alarm for each tank ... one light with a 3 way toggle switch, or a single light for each tank

Is your gauge digital or analog?

Holley makes a fuel presure switch. 3 terminal . And I got an in line aircraft fitting the the sensor screws into the side of all for 48 bucks. Now when I loose fuel pressure for ant reason I can have an alarm sound or shut the motor off. Sweet. How many guys fried something by loosing fuel pressure. ?

On another note when the boat was built, it looks the they put packing around the opening where the fuel filler and breather come out of the bilge. Was this to help keep fumes out of the cabin? It looks to have worked it's way out of the opening completey. I bet fumes are coming from this Area. I wonder if a hose or something is damaged on the front of the tank. If so, I'd be sh&t out of luck. right?
