Default What is this?

I have a 2005 29 Fever and found this under the cabin step in the round access panel on the port side. It was not mounted... But looks like it may have been at one time.

That is what I thought. But, I don't have a gauge in the dash and the build sheet shows that the boat was not ordered with a depth finder. Is this the normal location for the transducer? Is it normal for the factor to install the transducer without a gauge? Or, I wonder if this was an attempt to add a depth finder?

That is the normal place.

Let's see a picture of the dash, a lot of people put a stereo remote where the gauge normally goes

I put a new one in the same place, it was a different style, works great.
Seems to be good up to 40-50 mph, after that I never really look.

Thanks for all the info.

Wildman, I don't have a picture of the dash handy but there is a place for the gauge. It currently has a Fountain emblem plate there.

How to I remount the transducer to the hull?

What gauge to I need to purchase for the dash?

Pic of the dash. The filler is in the center below the speedo and tach.
