Default 98 38 fever???

just about to pick up my first fountain. its a 98 38 fever twin step. its got 540s making about 650hp. boat has standard bravos and the boat supposedly runs 85+. i have a new set of imco -2shorties laying around. is it worth installing these shorties or am i going to be creating problems with getting the boat on plane. thanks

They will definitely make it run faster. Depending on the way the boat is propped you might have to get a different prop.

IF BY INSTALLING THE - 2 IMCOS WILL STILL KEEP YOUR PROP SHAFT 2 INCHES BELOW THE RUNNING SURFACE. YOU WILL BE FINE WITH 4 BLADE BRAVO ONES. ANYTHING HIGHER THAN THAT YOU WILL NEED 5 OR 6 BLADE PROPS. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THAT BEFORE. ALSO HAVE A SET OF 30 PITCH 6 BLADE HERINGS FOR SALE.

Mine is a different animal, non stepped 38 fever with ssm iv drives. Propshafts 1.5" below the bottom, 17x28 props, engines around 650hp. Gets on plane ok, top speed 84 mph in perfect conditions.
