Default Props for a 48 fountain

I have a 2004 48 fountain EC with triple 440 yanmars and arneson surface drives I bought boat used..The boat has nibral props.not original.Top end is a little disapointing.
Does anyone have any experience with this boat and motors as to what props are recommended through experience.I want to purchase a set. They seem to be pretty expensive and I don't want to be disapointed after spending alot of money on them.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dan

This isn't much help at all, but I remember browsing Ebay the other day and a guy had a set of 3 Herring props that came off of a 48EC on Ebay. I remember thinking to myself, how in the world is this guy ever going to find a customer for these, and here you pop up LOL. Take a look on there, I can't remember what I was searching for.

DanoE: I have a 38 EC and was in Key West with a guy that had a 48 EC that said he was throwing the stock hearing blades like a ninja. He said he went to the nibral props and that stoped the blade parade. Never hurts to get top speed, but keep the Nibrals around in case you throw the stainless props. Anyway, just what one guy told me at the docks. I would love to move up to the 48, just don't have a place to keep here in florida. good luck

Darrel was having problems with throwing blades on that boat. I think Shogren ran it at the Shoot Out one year with the Herings on it. Ran like 60's if that helps at all.

Default Hering's

The early 48's with Herings thru blades due to thickness of bade. The new Herings that have been on the 48's have not been a problem. Call Jeff @ Hering, great people to work with.
