was a factory shorty already. boat was raced through 2003, then it was sent to the factory for a new windshield and an interior, and a complete rerig for a pleasure boat (2004) I believe this was the sequence from the info I have gathered.

mcprodesign 12-27-2011 06:08 PM

Depends on parts. I have an Outerlimits that needs to be water tested and we de-winterized a big cruiser for the holiday weekend. Might push some water with more than one boat!

Happy New Year!

H9ow fast is the outerlimits? :D

I just want to say that this boat was everything Brett @ performance boat brokerage said it was. ( I don't know if you all know this but i boat the boat site un seen and had it deliverd, wired money etc) It is a peferct example of a High Quality performance fountain powerboat ! I could not be happier with the purchase of my new boat.

So If you need a boat Call Brett first !!!

We took it out on San Diego bay, Dodged sail boats, chop, aircraft carries etc.. Then we took it out on the ocean and luanched it. The boat performed flawlessly and vey smoothly.

Then (after lunch) We opened it up on the way back to the trailer. It hangs Really Nice! I think I had the tabs at 3 and the drives at 4 or 5 and we almost hit 90.(According to the tach we were right at 5100 maybe 52.)
We could not really see very far in front of us because the foggy marine layer was thick.. Good thing we did let off because we Luanched off some BIG SH!Trollers at about 70 ...

As it was it was a pretty good first time out. I still need to toe the drives to 1/8, ( they are at 1/4 right now) a trim sincro on the drives might be in order as well. As far as the motors.. The best thing is that the timing is at 28, this means the motors have run at a mild tunning for quite some time. If i set the timing to 30 or even 32 I could see a huge perfomance increase. Plus a little longer at WOT I might see 94ish. But I really think I need a set of labbed 34's. Right now it has hydro 5 blade 32's . and the boat JUMPS! on plane really quick as it is...

mcprodesign 01-01-2012 10:19 AM

Are there any experts on drive heidth? I have one inch spacers on the drives. Doesn't it look like I could remove them and run bigger wheels? I don't mind working to plane it if I get more up top. I gat a poker run comming up. Any input would be greatly apreciated.

mcprodesign 01-01-2012 03:20 PM

Ran 91 on Elsinore today on the rev limiter (5400) and I have not even started timimg and tuning yet. I need some bigger wheels :D

Sounds like the first few outings have been a sucess. Glad all is working out in your favor so far.

Your comments about Brett @ Performance Boat Brokerage sound spot on. I have not purchased from him but a couple years back I did go back and forth with him on a boat he had for sale. I was impressed with his way of doing business.

It took a day to take it off and paint the pieces and a day to reinstall it. I have been a bodyman and painter for 30 years. I would charge a grand to do it. 500 if you could bring me the parts

Take it off. Sand the chit out of it w 320 and put it back on :lolhit:

mcprodesign 03-27-2012 11:35 AM

Here is the boats's potential if anyone cares :lolhit:

Right now 94.8 @ 5300 climbing and running out of lake. I eased it up to speed and it took a longer than it use to take...

60 mph 3500
50 mph 3000.

This is bone stock props. If i go up 2 pitches and have labbing done I would loose aprox 100-200 rpms ??? Puting me @ 99 MPH ?? Gonna take some time before I do that ..:lolhit: Right now just happy w the set up I have, and in the future I still have a 95 mph set up that I can fall back on.
I could have never done it w o OSO!! Thanks :D

Six blades are a bit too much stern lift for getting on plane. So, I had Hering make me a set of 5 Blades.. But, it is too hot now to really test them w/o working my motors too hard.. I't over 100.. So, I will test later. But right now 94.8 stands as the top speed. I have not touched the motors. I think he will go 97.. ( I hope)

ARB38 08-08-2012 10:57 AM

Those props look familiar.

Yep, They were perfect just like you said. Hering had no record of repairs. Just kinda hard for my set up to get on plane. The ex boxes you had on your semi stag must have helped it plane . I got within 50 bucks of what I gave you for the props. ( Cheaper than renting a set )
