A question from an on-looker. Why are you so dead set on running that prop? If something else might work better, why not try it? Just a thought.

I am running 85-86mph GPS right now on 4lbs of boost fully loaded with fuel, coolers and 4 people. I run Bravo XRs (1.50) and 32P Bravo 1 props. I could put the smaller pulleys on and go up to 7-8lbs of boost but I want to see if some shorties would give me 6-8 mph.

I am propably going to add some IMCO nose cones next month and see what if anything I will get from them.

The nose cones are much cheaper ($250 vs $9K) route than me getting the the shorties.

The prop feels great on the boat, also its paid for. Cruise speed is about right, good mid. Why the 5B, well I hope will a shortie it will give a nice rooster tail. Yes its cheesy, but my 6y old thinks its the coolest thing on earth. Being superdad is hard, shooting a rooster tail is EZ!!

Depending on the original x dimension, -2 shorties will make a huge difference in most applications. I saw a dramatic increase in speed partially because my drives were so deep.

My friend tried a 2 inch shorty on his 91 non step 27 fever. It was a 509 and had heads, cam, single plane intake, cmi's it did 75 -76 mph added the shorty and did nothing just jacked up the slip numbers and added rpm no speed gain. Before the motor up grades it ran 67-68 .
