Saw that one a few weeks back. I lived in OKC for the last 10yrs and never saw it but I didnt go out to Tenkiller much. Just cant pull the trigger on blower motors........
|
IMHO That was the steal of the year.
|
So is it confirmed then, that Jersey 35 sold?
|
I dont know if it sold or not but if it was clean at 49K on the trailer it just set the market. The colors could have been a little better but it was still a deal.
The crazy thing is you can get a 38 in the mid to upper 50s close to the same year |
I have a clean 1997 35 Lightning for sale. I was debating whether to list it or not.
Its an absolutely awsome boat. A true sleeper. Very clean and well maintained. I have just gone through the motors and have fresh drives on the boat. Would come with two covers and a Hoss tandem trailer. Let me know if you might be interested. |

Seems to me the 35's, 38's, and 42's are going for almost the same money these days.
Kinda crazy, I started looking at 29's and I am finding 42's for not much more in many cases. Just dont know if I want to devote an entire half of my barn to the boat lol |

Sold for less (nothing wrong with trying to make a buck) There was no word that engines were rebuilt (then) Boat ran 93ish @ LOTO Boat is 6 out of 10. Needs new interior and carpet. It sold and I saw the clist add, asked who built the motors and they said a shop at LOTO. I asked what shop as I was from the area....no response. And I think it needs a new GPS sender. edit: also spent time in CT and FL.... |

35 from Jersey
The 35 from Jersey was pulled and yes it was a fresh water boat previously. Seller was flooded with buyers. It will probably be back at a higher price.

Resell???
I would question that rationale, too. For all intents and purposes its winter. It won't be worth more next year, my .02... |

Why are you selling so soon? Looked like a very clean boat, the rigging was sharp. |

As I recall the previous owner said he was tired of putting gas in it all the time and he was raising a family.
I wonder how the drives hold up. |
with the blower pully set to 700 HP, we ran 93 mps with full fuel tanks and 7 people on board.
Turn it up to the 850 HP pully and it will run 105+ I love the boat. The rigging is super clean. It is extremely fast, and looks like a total sleeper. No one expects the boat to go as fast as it does. Im currently looking at a larger boat. Need to sell this one in order to buy the next one. |

I've been finding more and more deals like this everyday now on boats around this year or newer. It's more than I really want to spend, but I'm starting to wonder if it's not the best way to go. Almost hard to pass some of these up.
|
Seems No body wants the 496's, From my readings it's claimed them not to be too reliable when adding extra power to them & they have already stopped making them!!!
|
The 496Ho is an excellent platform in stock form and will run well over 750hr if maintained. There are guys with over 900hrs on them. They have hypernetic piston and cast cranks which require perfect tunning and low boost when forced induction is applied. However, N/A Raylar kits have proven to be reliable with aftermarket exhaust producing 550-560hp.
|
I would have no problem owning a set of 496s. Seem very reliable, IF you don't tamper with them, which in my case I have no desire to.

If you want more power, better acceleration, higher resale, buy the used blue motor boat in the first place. If you buy the 496 HO just leave it alone and drive the thing, you will be better off. IMO |
How big is the difference in acceleration and out of the hole, 496 vs HP500? Theres about 4-6mph in topspeed, but I doubt there will be any bigger differences otherwise?
|
Hard to give a objective measurement but I can tell u that a friends wife could feel the difference, right away.
You give that up when you don't have the higher HP, but you do get a motor that lasts longer, and no top end rebuild. All in what you want, also how many hours a year are you going to run. |
