It's an OK deal, still needs a lot of work though. Plus he doesn't say if the trailer is included.

I am looking for a 38 or 42 Fountain that needs some work. Has anybody in the Ft Myers area seen this boat in person? I would love to get an unbiased opinion on the condition of this boat. Please let me know. Maybe somebody that's close would be willing to go look at her. Thanks.

I have a 94 model 38 Fever with 200 actual hours on the hull, kept indoors, all original interior in excellent shape. I have the motors out at present, (had a problem with one so pulled both to check them both). I want to go another direction. Will sell with or without power. If interested, email [email protected] and I will get you more info and pictures.

Looks like a nice power package, if its all in good shape. IE, headers not rotted out, blocks not rotted from saltwater. The SSM drives is nice.

Price doesn't exactly make me wanna rush out and buy plane tickets though. Wonder what kind of work the cabin floor would need? That scares me a bit.

Osageparty 11-10-2011 07:11 PM

Yeah, the cabin floor scares me to. That's why I was hoping someone down in Ft. Myers could take a look see. The Sportsmaster drives don't thrill me much either. 24K seems a bit much with no interior and floor problems, but you never know what he would be willing to take. I just lost a deal on a 95 42 with no power in 9 out 10 condition for 18K. Took me too long to pull the triger. Oh well. A 38 will fit in my dock without modifications so I guess it's just as well.

I will call him and try to look at it for you tomorrow, I have a job to look at up on the beach anyways.

They are "Speedmaster" drives. I'd be alot more thrilled about those than Bravo's or TRS. The old straight bottom 38's need lots of power to go fast. Big power, needs big drives. The SSM drives are pretty much bulletproof. Only downside is props are expensive. No need to drive like a schoolgirl with Speedmasters!

Thanks Searaycer, That would be great. Let me know what you find out.

Osageparty 11-10-2011 09:25 PM

I know SSM Drives are strong but I thought parts are expensive and hard to come by. Maybe I'm wrong.
