Default External steering outside or in?

If you have the room to install steering rams either inside or the outside...is there a reason why one is better than the other?

No room for a tie bar if mounted inside?
Better access on the outside?

Never seen it done on the inside. Mine is on the outside and it works great.

Formula mounts them on the inside. Doesn't seem like it would matter other then the design of the boat.

I asked this question before, the response was that it depends if it will clear the tabs or not. Other then that it makes no difference
