The painted looks great but I would think when you tie a bumper up the paint would get tore up.

Did they paint your Bow rails?
Mine are powdercoated white from the factory and its started flaking off.
Im worried about them leaking if I remove and have them re-done, so I was thinking about having them sprayed instead is why Im asking

im sure ill have to be carefull , but i had to have them painted to match . that was my only idea besides the 33 lightning on the side . mitch didnt seem to worried though

Downtown42 12-30-2011 09:49 PM

My 35 had factory powdercoated rails white and they started flaking/peeling off in a few years after trying to be as careful as possible.

My local semi-truck paint shop that custom sprays aluminum fuel tanks took mine off and re-did them with a DuPont special metal paint that adheres very well. Can't remember what it is called but much more durable than powdercoat from the factory.

Back4More 12-30-2011 11:02 PM

Looks great! Tell Mitch i say hello.

It's been awhile since I've been on any of the forums, so let me first say "HI" to everyone.
I appreciate all of your great comments and support so much.

Rob, thank you for being so great to work with. I have truly been so fortunate to be able to work with some of the greatest people in this industry. Rob has been nothing but GREAT to work with. His project has been exciting for me to work with and his positive attitude really keeps my fires fueled.
This is my last finished project of 2011.....so Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try and get some pictures of the finished boat later today. The weather isn't the greatest today, so hopefully I'll be able to get something and post them for you all to see.

Thanks again everybody

Not sure, it may be a special formula of Imron but not the 5000 or 6000 that is commonly used on the cab and frame.

This was done around 1999-2000. MetalFlake could be the name of it, can't remember. Good stuff. With road debris bouncing off custom painted fuel tanks, it held up well.

Mitch, nice work as always !!

ROB FREEMAN 01-01-2012 02:39 AM

I dont know of any history on the boat, other than where it was stored. I used to keep my old boat in a building right up the street and saw it every now and than when the door was open. I have only seen it on the water a few times over the last several years, and one of them was not too long ago. (mabe your sea trial?) Anyway, again, the boat looks real good with the new paint. Thanks for sharing your progress.

the mayor 01-02-2012 05:52 PM

Looks great Rob.
Now bring it to Ohio this summer will make one of our 50 to 60 mile runs on the river. Actually 100 miles round trip.
