Default question for reggie fountain

reggie,i have a 99 38 foot fever with #6 drives,it had what were thaught to be 900 hp engines, anyway, before bying the boat, while on a test ride with the owner, the port motor expired,so i have no real knowledge of what top speed would have been,or at what rpm it maxed at,moving on,i have made big changes to the engines,8.3L whipples, etc.new power dyno,d at 1200 hp at 6500 rpm.the drives have 1.5 ratio gears and 17.5 dia 35 p 4 blade props,my question is,with the additional power, should i change gear ratio to something like 1.3,or will i be ok with the 1.5.ratio.any input will be very much appreciated.

I emailed them about a month ago on replacement carpet and still nothing. But that's about standard. I think over the last two years I have called twice and emailed 2-3 times each without a response.

Just wondering, when an engine expires during a test ride, does the owner get a lot more flexible on price?
