1996 Fountain 42', National Liquidators

Has anybody personally looked at the 1996 Fountain 42' Triple 600 SC Item #26972 at National Liquidators, Ohio.

Just wondering if anybody has inspected the boat and could shed some light on the condition. Obviously, in today's market I think the boat is not worth over $45k as it's older and has triples.

Thanks in advance.

Be prepared to spend some dough. Every boat there is a gigantic POS. I would stay away. Very far away!!!

How do they think they are worth that much?

So both the 42 and 47 fully sunk? And then were placed up for sale. They should be at Coparts and not National Liquidators.

Not sure about the 42... the engine compartment looks fairly clean but the interior is beat. Not real sure if it is a sinker.... Its worth the $400 to have a professional survey if you are serious...

We have a National Liquidators in Ft. Lauderdale which is local to me... some of the boats are really trashed but I will say there are a few diamonds in the rough as well..... Just need to know what your looking at and "inspect what you expect".....

Yes a good survey would be a wise investment since fountains are suseptible to stringer rot due to non marine grade plywood having been used during construction.

Value

What are the opinions of the value of the 47 and the 42 as they sit in today's market?

Personally I think you are crazy to consider a triple 42 or 47 especially one that is 15 years old. Gas and maintenance would be through the roof. Hope you have deep pockets!!

assuming you had the money to own and maintain a big boat of that caliber if you got the boat at the right price after having a survey it could be a good deal.
