putting together an old girl!! she has the #5 gimbles and boxes on along with big shaft 4's. fresh cobra power 750's going in it tonight. its been a few years and she is finally gonna hit the water with a attitude!
SWEET!!!!! That should run strong wit 750's..I going to guess and say 105 ish for speeds..
thats right about where we were thinking too. it ran 100 with beat 700's and drives with 2 differrent gear ratios side to side. lol. fresh big shaft 4's with the same gear ratio side to side now. i will post mroe pics of the progress. should hit the water in a week or so. summer is here in buffalo and a ton of work to do still. im doing a 27 fever with a 850 prob next week and i will post a thread about that too

hope i do not sound dumb, but how much did the ext boxes raise you drives?what kind of exhaust?i am guessing headers by the height of the holes on the transome.nice looking 10meter.should hurt some feelings out on the water.
Nice, I remember that boat used to come cruising by my cottage on crystal beach. Good to see it going back together!
its been 3 years since its seen water. we boat out of wilson ny alot so you may see it again soon!

Awesume piece of history. Someone was asking about this boat a while back. Can't wait to see the engine room pics. Cool boat !

boxes all painted up and looking good. gonna get wiring and plumbing done tonight!! should be firing it up this weekend.
Looks very cool. Cant wait to hear how it runs.
Where are the propshafts at now relative to the bottom? My guess is you may want to be about even with the running surface, with the boxes. Maybe even above the bottom .5-1" with some 5 blades. Props turning in. "10X" on the board here has a 10 meter, with #4's on boxes. He runs a pair of 850-900HP engines. I wanna say his boat run's in the upper teens, but Im sure this boat is lighter, as his is a pleasure version. I talked with a guy locally to me, who used to Race "JUWANNA" a 38 Fever non stepped, with #4 drives. They did lots of testing at Lake X back in the day. With 700's, that boat ran 90ish. |
the prop shafts are just a whisker below. the boat needed to get the drives lower than they were. in a 2 foot chop the props would blow out before and was a pain in the a$$ to drive. we mounted the boxes as the same height as the previous gimbles. with the slant of the transom and pushing them back we are thinking its where it needs to be. or at least closer. we will find out if we did it right when it hits the water lol. cant wait. will post more pics soon
What props were you running? Sounds like your gonna have a sweet setup!
he has a set of 31 4 blades 17.5 i think to try. might be right on the money. he had 650's before. the 750's and being back in the water farther we might be close. we also free'd up a little more power with the crash boxes so it might need bigger wheels. wwe will know soon. summer is here and itching to get it in the water. but its been 3 years since its seen water so whats another week lol.

keep us posted on the progress
last night got the battery boxes and batteries installed. wired the batteries and hid the wiring and battery switches under the new back bolsters. mounted and hooked up steering cooler and filter. all inside steering hoses done. figured out trim and drive pump wiring since it was all cut on derig when it was in florida. wired the motors and got them turning over. got spark!!. gotta hook up the linkage for the crash boxes, hook up some gauges on the motors, wire the bilge pump and fuel lines and filters, and get hoses from sea strainers to sea pumps. throw the carbs and exhaust on and time the motors. its gonna rain up here in lovely buffalo ny this weekend so i should have it fired up since i wont be boating this weekend.
will keep ya updated |
got the trim wiring all attached and got the drives and tabs moving. electrical is all done. gotta work this morning but gonna try to get it fired up today. just have to do the crash box linkage, connect the mechanical gauges. run fuel lines exhaust and carbs and they should be making noise!. will post pics and progress tonight

I want one for Christmas!!!
so the executioner is gonna hit the water and go for a ride for the first time in 3 years tomorrow. we got the steering all on and plumbed. we took a small break to finish other boats and do a couple poker runs while we gathered some more parts for the boat. but its time to give it a shake down!!. a friend is gonna try to keep up with a go pro camera on his jet ski while we take the maiden voyage. should have some good pics and video and i will give everyone an update tomorrow night!!

Very cool nice project

between the rain storms we were able to hit lake ontario. the wind changed from a south wind to a west wind like a light switch. 1-2 foot chop became a 3-4 foot chop. the boat was way easier to get on plane than before. we did a nice cruise at 50 mph just to get the feel for the boat. its a totally different animal with the boxes!!! boat went through the 4 footers like nothing.. drives tucked in and tabs down gave the throttles a push and the boat pulls like a top fuel car. those cobra 750's pissed off everyone on the shoreline of lake ontario trying to have a nice quiet dinner.. 90 mph @5000 on gps so far. figured that was good enough for the first day driving the boat and how rough the water was. with a little more seat time and mother nature cooperating a little better we hope to have some pretty impressive numbers soon!!
will keep you posted |
