I have owned both and loved them both but the 35 is allot more stable when you get into the upper 80's or above...
My 32 with (2) 502-415hp ran 78mph...
My 35 with (2) 525-525hp Blue Motors (really about 540hp) ran 88mph

The one I'm jonesing for(already applied for the loan, but it's about 1500 miles away) is a 1997 35 Lightning. Has Imco SC drives, 509 supercharged, twin carb, 675 hp engines. It is in excellent condition, every gauge you could ask for....has myco trailer with drive gaurds....If I don't drive out there and get it, I'll be beside myself as I've pretty much made the decision. Any thoughts in what a single step fountain could run with that kind of horsepower and drive setup? I think it's running Bravo 30p 4 blade props

I have a 98 32, and tow with an 06 Ford F250. Finally got rid of that 6.0, and got a Duramax. The weather has not cooperated to drag the boat to the lake, but I towed it around the block, and the Chevy seems to tow MUCH better. The ford had more oomph, but the Chevy just seems to glide compared to the ford. In the Ford's defense, it was the fx4 upgraded offroad package, and it rode pretty harsh not even towing. Also, with both trucks, you can't even tell the boat is back there as far as power delivery goes.
Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread with a chevy vs ford vs dodge thing....just answering a question.

Lol...muffled exhaust note? I'm running dry pipes...mine sounds AWESOME...570 hp 540 cubic inches.

As for towing, initially, I had an F350 srw with the 7.3 diesel, now I've got a Ram 2500 with a Cummins. Both towed the boat with ease...stop it well too! Going to look at a Ram 3500 dually with a Cummins today for pulling the Active Thunder.

He is right about the muffled exhaust note on Fountains....the platform sits so low that the exhaust sound really isn't as loud in the cockpit as other boats....especially a steel tube platform. It just depends what you like.....I loved the sound of my 540 w/long tips under a steel tube, but I also love the fact that in a Fountain you can actually have a conversation....at least the 35 and 32 I've been in recently allowed it. However, it may actually be louder out behind the boat on Fountains??

While on the subject of tow....I don't think I could give up my 2010F250 to save my life, but the new Dodge does look pretty dang solid.

I pull my 35 with a 06 f-250 diesel, no problem, its a 2000 classic w 588 donovans , 1700hp, 34 pitch props , will run 100+, and it is also forsale at texoma ,

Go for the 35 much better ride plus it is not so rear heavy like the 32' they sit too low in the rear in my opinion
My next boat will be a 35 for sure
