Did these motors come with a thermostat? Should it have one? Iv read that u will have more h20 pressure with a thermostat? My oil temp gets to 140 and water temp gets to 130 goes up a bit if u fun it hard water pressure is still only 10 to 14 psi at wot. Help would be great just trying to figure stuff out thanks.

All 502 mpi have 160 thermostat,otherwise they run in cold start mode with a 140 or lower temp..you should be running around 160 170 temp which is normal

My temps run the exact same, i do not run a thermostae because Of the whipple set up on it.

if i had a thermostat would water pressure be higher? I dont beleve i have a thermostst what should my oil temp be?

There have been many threads on water and oil temperatures. While opinions vary non-supercharged raw water cooled seem to be in the 140-160 range for water and 190-240 max range for oil. Closed cooling systems run a bit higher water temps; around 170-180. My Fountain runs about 150-160 water and mostly 200-220 oil temps cruising (6.2MPIs). Will see 240 oil temps at WOT. I have 9" combo oil/power steering coolers and use synthetic 25-40 weight oil.

Mine runs 160 all the time, oil temp between 170-190. Ive never seen oil temp over 200, or eng. temp over 160. Engine temp verified by heat lazer, oil temp???
