Black on that pad will be hot, and the purple to an extent. I keep a comforter tucked under the front hatch edge and just pull it down onto the rear seat when moving. When stopped it always gets spread back out over the hatch. Keeps the wear/pulling off all the sticking and not so slippery to walk on. Still looks brand new 14 yrs later and no fallen lawsuits.

I thought of doing that to, but never got past the thinking of it part.

Actually happened via a ladder I threw in the bed over the side. Literally just nicked it and it just spidered. (The reason it's posted was because its one of the only pictures I have that shows the purple, that usually shows as black)
