you must be thinking about the rear side vents, those are billet on my boat, I've never seen the big vents done in Aluminum, i think mcpro has a good idea to reinforce the crap out of the stock glass ones on there, & then I'll send them back to Mitcher T for touch ups
minor winter project :lolhit: . they were blue on a mainly white boat with just a small amount of blue. Looked good. |
Would like to see that in progress

I would just use your current ones to make molds, then lay up some new ones with some more robust fabric. A decent glass guy should be able to use your existing ones as plugs and not damage them, then you can make/sell new ones to all the other guys that have broken theirs.

Here is how to do it. Tape off the painted surface extremely well with green 3m tape or some tape that will come off easily. Flip them over in and Sand the back of them with 80 grit by hand make sure you sand every single bit the back. Then lay up the glass in the way I told you previously. While it is still sticky pull up your tape off. Make sure it is soft enough and hard enough to trim around the edges with the razor blade. It will be perfect. You probably don't need glass on the very edge that bolts to the boat because then it would be too thick.and you would see the edge. So dont class the outer edge that bolts to the boat.

At this point just call Fountain...
