I have been looking at 2003 and up 35's, both Lightnings and Executioners. I am willing to spend up to $115,000, but not $105,000 on a 2005 Executioner with plain graphics! I understand what people paid, that is not my problem, just looking for the right boat at the right price, and some people realize what that is.
I have been $5,000 apart on two different occasions and both boats are still for sale over 1 year later and each owner stated that their payments were over $700 per month. You do the math on if they came out ahead by holding out for $5,000. I understand that they may not have had the $5,000 sitting there to pay off their loan.

It sounds to me, that there is a little bitterness about the asking prices of some of these boats you guys are looking at. . Does that mean that these sellers NEED to sell you their boat at a bargain swap meet price that meets YOUR criteria? Not necessarily.
I think its a little vane of you guys to feel you should state what someone elses boat is worth in your opinion, based on comparables. . If you want the boat, make your offer. If they don't take it, don't be pi$$ed off because they didn't meet YOUR spending criteria.
Just because one guy is in a tight financial position and needs to sell that single step 35 well below market value, doesn't mean the guy who wont is an idiot, if he doesn't follow suit.
What it sounds like is you guys are strictly looking for the guy who lost his job, on the verge of losing his home, and you wanna scoop up his boat for pennies on the dollar. .

And, just this week a good friend bought a 2001 25 Baja Outlaw , very nice, from the original owner, low hours for $21,500, he was a smart guy, he bought what he can afford, nothing wrong with that.

this is a very sharp one. I have seen this boat on the lake last year and looks to be well taken care of...
I didn't get too close to it only saw it at a small poker run here locally....

You can get into my 1993 35 and get into a newer 35 single or twin step with comparable power and other the the speed difference and the graphics you basically have the same boat. So for that reason i think that an older 35 that is in nice shape is worth every bit of 45 to 50 thousand. And i do not think the speed difference would be that much. When i bought my Lightning i thought i go one heck of a buy. Four years ago for Forty Nine Nine, and i would not take much less then that for it right now. Hope i am not getting off track here, it is just my opinion.
