Would I own a Cigarette, absolutely. But, the boat has to perform, not the name. Because at the end of the day, there is nothing superior construction wise on a 80's or early 90's cigarette. Take any of those old hulls, put some real power in it, and run 80, 90, 100mph in big water. See how they hold up. Things hold up a lot better at the 60mph then they do at 90. That's any boat manufacturer for that matter. But, I don't think there is any manufacturer out there, who has more boats on the water running 90+, than Fountain. Period! Whether its a old 10 meter, or a newer 42 lightning.

Did Fountain close up shop? Yup. How many other go fast boat companies had one commander in chief, for 30 years? How many of these owners have spent so much money in design, development, racing, and sponsorship?

Many of the old cig owners resort to "I don't care how fast it goes, It rides good in rough water''.

Well, lets get real. Its not 1990 anymore, and 64mph isn't gonna cut it. Not exactly a world class #1 offshore boat when a guy passes you with a Baja 272 open bow with a 496HO in a poker run.
