This may be a dumb question, but what is a twin step hull and what was the first year for it? Also, is there an easy way to visually identify a lighting vs executioner?

i believe the twin step hull is when the hull is double stepped as opposed to 1 step, and i believe to visually identify a lighting vs executioner is-- executioner has a wind screen, and lighting has the fairing. i could be wrong though

Thats what I thought, but I was looking online at a '96 35 Lightning and the picture looked like it was a twin step. What year did they start that?

Twin step 35 lightning came out in 2000 and it will have a full wrap windshield

2000 got it. Full wrap meaning one piece were the exec is more squared off?

Duuuuuude do a search this has been covered many times.. the step question is obvious, if you dont know that its probably not safe running any performance boat.. and the lightning vs executioner there are lots of other threads on that...

at least one with steps any way it is a different world. i have seen a guy i know that has been boating for ever back off in a turn not thinking and spun it.
