Who made steering system for Fountain in 2000?
My 2000 Fountain Fever with HP 500 EFI finally destroyed the original Bravo 1 drive. I have a new XR drive but the sterndrive mounting plate from the bravo ! does not fit properly on the XR drive. Called Latham but they said that they stopped supplying Fountain in the late 90's. Also said that their system would be stamped "Latham" on the cylinders and my steering system says Fountain. Anyone know who manufactured these systems??

During very early 2000's Fountain had their own brand made for them (drive adapter and rams).... same with the trim tabs (actually has the Fountain logo cast into the trim tabs) and trim tab cylinders. Not sure who the vendor was. They later went back to Latham steering and Merc Racing tabs and trim tab cylinders. Their trim tab cylinders looked like a piece of pipe with caps threaded on each end!

When I bought my '99, it had the Fountain steering rams and drive mounts. The tabs are K planes. The factory drive mounts were very porous and just painted. I purchased a set of polished Latham mounts, but had to make 4 SS bushings for the tie bar and ram mounting points and turn the large bolts down to allow the Latham mounts work with the Fountain rams. Never heard who was the actual maker of the Fountain branded parts.
Sounds like you may have enlist a machine shop to make the same alterations.
