Default Issue #1 of 2 (drive breakers)

Pulled up to our favorite sand island, anchored, raised the outdrives and so on. Some time later the tide is going out, So I raise the drives all the way up until we are ready to get out of there. Cranked up, idled to deeper water than lowered the drives. (bravo 1s). Starboard side goes down but Port side never moves. Find out the pump is not running. Push the breakers, pull on the breakers, wiggle them, tap them, stand on outdrive while pushing the switch. It ain't movin. Well we limp back to the trailer and after putting the voltmeter on it there is no power to the pump. Well just for the h*** of it I have the GF work the switch while I messed with the breaker at it "snapped". and the pump now works fine. I have been a aircraft mechanic for 30 years and when the breakers pop or are pulled there is a very noticeable distance between in and out. Not to mention a 1/4 inch colored line that appears. So any feed back from you on similar breaker issues?

1) You do not want to start the engines or have it in gear with the drives trimmed up like you describe. You put a terrible bind on the u-joints.

2) It sounds like you have a trim solenoid going bad albeit I can't explain the lack of voltage.

Had the same problem once. One drive would not lower. Try hooking power from a source
strait to the pump. It lowered the drive for me and worked ever since.
