Seats?

My old fountain has hyd seats
Did fountain switch to electric actuators?
What year did they switch
I'm totally RE-doing mine looking at different options
I seen some older post where people reinforced there bent frames and in some pics looks like I see electric act.

How about just a simple "hi" just to let me know I'm still alive with my old fountain? Lol
I've looked at old post I know somebody out there has redone & or converted there fountain seats?

Hi :).
Appearantly you seen the pics as the reinforced ones are mine. Not much more to show.
It's a holiday. I'm just checking in

My 94 had hyd. My 99 is electric

Not sure, my passenger side is bent so it will be coming apart this off-season. Brackets need replacing or repair.. big time

I just had to take mine apart. The three point hinge were the lower portion of the actuater attaches got bent. So I welded stiffners to the brackets, Reinstalled it and so far its working just fine. The bushing were worn out in the hinge. I think thats why they got bent. I made new ones. But I think car door hinge bushings would work.

Thanks everyone!
I'm going to redo mine in about 3 weeks (season over)
Going to put electric act. In, reinforce the frame.
On the pass seat, I'm going to put a latch bar across the bottom.
I'll keep ya posted...
Redoing all my interior, stereo, and lights... Going to be doing a few cool things with led lights and the fountain emblem

Hey.. can you email me pictures of your seat apart possibly. I have an 02 but I need to take out the actuator for the seat, the cylinder shaft/ram is bent. All the hinge brackets were bent, but I was able to straighten those easily, the bushings were fine. Just need to have the ram replaced or fixed. Not sure how to get that out of the seat. Or if its easier to take the seat out?

what are you using for electric rams, ive got a 98 with hyd, was thinking of just making them sit down seats but when docking i like to see all around.

Just straightening the bent brackets aren't enough. They'll just bend again. Gotta add some bracing to upper cross piece where the actuator attaches, and on both the seat bottom frame and frame itself where the actuator linkage attaches. The seat frames are made out of too thin steel for the forces just from sitting on them, not counting when seeing some rough water. The hinges have a lot to be desired too. Shoulder bolts fastened to nuts welded to sheet metal and counting on the 1/4-20 threads of those shoulder bolts not shearing off. Really????? Poor design. I not only reinforced the frames at those 3 weak locations, but also welded in 3/8" thick steel for the hinges on both the seat bottom and frame, so the shoulder bolts go thru the steel where the bolt body is now the hinge pivot/support, then into the nuts. The nuts just hold the bolts in. Zero force on the threads. I can jump on my seats and they deflect ZERO.
