Default Step pad replacement

Any of you guys replace the wood step pad on the older 10/12 meters? Not the fold out step but the ones that are on the outside of the cockpit. I'm looking to get rid of the wood for different material or lose it all together.

Post a pic. Will there be holes to fill if you remove them completely?

I don't really know what the step plates look like on the older Fountains, but I recently bought step plates from Dana Marine for the inside of the cockpit. Maybe one of these will work for you.

Yea like 6 or 8 screw holes. I will post a pic of the steps tomorrow as I removed them for the winter so I can figure out what to do.

Hey thanks for the website something like that might work. The only problem might be that the original steps are so dang big. I will take some measurements tomorrow and compare the dimensions with the large ones on that site.

Best pic I can find of the steps on the boat, they're in front of the engine compartment vents. Cabin door is also getting changed.

I would have some aluminum ones cut and can paint them any color. It is much easier than filling holes. Mine are white and from a distance you can't tell they are there.
