Now I need some help from all my Fountain friends. I'm pretty sure that my old props will not be any were near right for the new motors so I'm hoping to get some input from all of you guys on what you think I should try size wise and what make works best already for you. Let me give you a little info to work with about my boat. She is a 32 Fever obviously. She has the single step hull. I'm running stock Bravo drives with Bravo 1 props. The props I have now are Bravo 1 28" of pitch 4 blade. Motors after break in should be 600HP and 700 ft lbs of torque. Input Please!!! Everyone!!

Here in Florida we have a place that deal about all kinds of boat props. Its called Prop Gods. These guys will send out a tech with all different makes and sizes of props that should be close on diameter and pitch to run and try. I will most likely pay the money for them to send out and help me tune this deal in. I already know that I'm going bigger on diameter. That's something that you hardly hear on this site is guys adding diameter. I'm very surprised at this point because if you know anything about props you know that added diameter is instant power and instant speed just because your grabbing more clean water then you could before with the added blade distance. Looking at different props Hydro is the only make that advertises different diameters on there props. I'm not sure if everyone does it but they don't advertise it.

Be careful my friend, just because someone asks a couple of questions does not make them ignorant, you are the one that has been posting the claims. I simply asked if I was missing something, the motors have been painted for more than one month, usually that takes place just before dyno time and then install, I was simply trying to understand the delay. I was also questioning what I assume is a hefty tab to generate an extra 100 hp seems odd to me.

Lucky,
Do you have pictures of where you mounted the fender holders? |
What were the dyno numbers @ 5400? I'm confused on the break in period. Engines should be at peak coming off of dyno I would think.
|
I am confused too? Did they make 600hp? Did you get full Dyno sheets? Are the runners stock or did he cut them down and bore them out?
|
my guess is you will need a set of 32" Bravo 1's if you can turn them up to 5400 you should be right @ 90

This may help you a little with prop selection. This is my dyno sheet from bone stock HP500EFI with a bit over 360 hours. Top ends have been rebuilt but stock valves, cam etc. You will notice I am a little less HP and trq but it will give you a little info.
I run 28 Hydro 4 blades to 5200 rpm, from what I understand that equals a 30 Bravo. Sounds like a 32 would be a good starting point, BB blades also runs a prop test program. |
