The Fevers were the older models and were 38' and under and got superceded by the Executioner. Not sure why you think they are inferior; they were/are pretty good boats. The lightnings were/are a bit more high end but later models (42's) shared the same hull with the EX's. On the lightnings you will generally find a bit more amenities, particularly a full framed windshield and the engine air induction vents are entirely a different style. EX's will generally be cheaper than comparable model year Lightnings.

Funny, I'm the exact opposite but it's all about personal taste. The Fever/EX's are badass looking boats no question. The other major difference between the EX's and the LIghtnings is the ability to walk around the deck on the outside of the cockpit although I think on later model EX's that might not be an issue anymore.

In no way was I trying to knock the fever models. The reason that I had asked is now that I have my 32 fever I have started looking at all of the fountain models online and just doing some comparisons. To me it looks like they are usually cheaper than some of the other models with similar size, age and engine options.
