Chris,
I believe you will like the ride quality of a straight bottom Fountain 33/35, I have a 1990 in mint cond. and like everything about it, great ride, great handling, great styling & body lines, lots of room in the engine bay for maintenence. I had several guys tell me they were going to ,,kick my ass in rough water ,, because their boats rode much better than my Fountain in rough water, a couple of them were 28's, couple were 29's, I didn't care cause I don't race, so my Beautiful wife and I pulled out of the cove into 3 to 4 footers and set the speed to only 70 mph, I kept waiting for one of them to pass me, I finally looked back after 3 miles or so, everyone was so far back I could barely see them, and looked like they were trying to stay in my wake, I don't know if it was the rough water that slowed them down or they just couldn't run 70, go figure. It probably won't run w/ a 38 or 42 in rough water, but who cares. |

Congrats Chris, beautiful boat!

Congrats on the boat Chris!
Not only does it ride well, its a BLAST to drive! |
Sharp looking fountain! The Ford looks to be sitting level and up for the task! Love them Fountains N Fords!

Not to get crucified, I give a lot of credit to a well balanced, well maintained and extremely well set up trailer with electric brakes - the truck tows great, Stops on a dime, accelerates well handles the load well and the trailer is level on flat ground as it should be.

Great looking boat. Congrats.

That boat was owned by Drew from Tech Force, sold this spring to the new owner who I have not met yet. It is a signature 35 straight bottom.

I love these threads touting each brand, specifically Cig vs Fountain. I've got an off-brand no-name boat that runs 85 every day. My power (775hp a side) in a fountain would be pushing close to a 100 I'm sure...
But I can stand up in my (I'm 6') cabin and it sleeps 5 comfortably, full camper top and comfortable amenities. Can we agree that both those brands are over-priced? ;P I'd own one in a second if I could find one at reasonable price! It would have to be at least a 38 Fountain for me... My buddy has a CLEAN 29' Fountain (older hull, 1995) with HP 500s for 34k Canadian (like 30 US funds). It shocks me that its not sold... |
Rambocj7,
I happen to like the "off-brand" "no-name" boats as you put it as well. I have had an Active Thunder as well as a Saber. I have also had a formula and onto a fountain. all good boats and all unique in their own right. |
