My point exactly - you came onto the Fountain forum to tell us how great Cigarettes are, and bash Fountain. You never answered my question - what boat do you own? Pretty lousy way for a new member to start contributing to the website.

Dude, I praised Fountains for their performance prowess and excellent history in racing. If that's not enough, then tough. If I only came on to bash Fountains, I would have just bashed Fountains. But I didn't do that. I praised Fountains, and then I expressed my feelings about how they look. Sorry you can't handle that. I prefer anonymity on the internet so I'm not telling you what boat I own. Just deal with it. You aren't the police of offshore only dot com so I'll say whatever I want. For some reason you've chosen to focus on the negative things I said about Fountains per my opinions. You are CHOOSING to ignore the positive things I said. That's on you. And I wasn't aware this was a popularity contest. I think my comment was an excellent way for a new member to contribute. Certainly got your goat.

Hahaha. Yea, I'm sure you are right. Hopefully he got the right boat for him. I caught a lot of grief for my comment from a Fountain guy. He's rather upset with me.

You did not "get my goat" - most people on this site are enthusiasts who appreciate all performance boats and chose to admire them with out negative comments. Your post on a Fountain forum would have been better served on the Cigarette forum. Why would you want to stir the pot as a new member unless you are a Troll? I doubt you own a boat or else why would you join a boating website and not talk about your boat?

Well, that is your right to feel that way. I am glad you have a Fountain. I know a couple Fountain owners. Great boats. Did you forget the original topic of this thread? It's "Fountain or Cigarette". It's not a Fountain forumn. I'm sticking 100% to the topic. I voiced an honest opinion. I state it as MY opinion. This isn't a Fountain thread. It's Fountain Vs. Cigarette. So don't tell me where my comment would be better served. People argue left and right on this site. Which gear case is better? Which hull is more efficient? Rough water vs. Calm water? Reggie's hair. If a Fountain owner came on here and said he thought all the Cig logos are gaudy and they are slower or ugly I wouldn't throw a fit. Ford Vs. Chevy man. Mopar Vs. Ford Vs. Chevy. Enjoy boating. Stay safe. I can assure you I own an offshore boat.

LIsten, I am exaggerating when I say Fountains are ugly. I have a tendency to do that on the internet. They aren't ugly. They just aren't my style. That is all. I just visually appreciate the Cig more than the Fountain so I don't mind the performance difference. I'm not trying to troll you. I think the beak is cool. I've seen some I do like. Cig is just the boat for me. Looks like you have a cool Lightning with nice reliable 525 power. You can probably guess what kind of boat I have.

I've had 2 Fountains, and now on my 2nd Baja. though both of those were/are cruisers. Currently have a Baja 340 Motor Yacht. (Fancy name for big azz cruiser) My boating style has changed. :)
