My 97 Fountain 24CS
Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a while and I've learned quite a few things from this forum. I figured it was time to post some pics of my 24cs that I picked up a few months ago. I've been wanting one for a year or so ever since I got rid of my 00 32' Fever. I got out of bigger boats last summer as it really became a hassle instead of enjoyable with towing the larger boat around from lake to lake etc. But I digress, I love my 24cs! I am however looking at adding a 29' Fever with 500HP's to the fleet for those times I want a larger boat. lol.
Without further ado, here's my 24CS! It has a 454 that has been worked over, aluminum heads, rpm intake and an upgraded carb. Does 72ish on GPS. My wifes Raptor is the current tow rig... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...pscelc9jez.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psd18djbg6.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psrdld3dy4.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psgylajuaz.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psv2jtfsev.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psurrvuo7c.jpg And just because, here's a pic of the ole 32 from last season... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...pszx0pkkkt.jpg |

Here are a couple shots from this past weekend and a shot of some of my new parts coming in... Simrek drive shower and a new Bravo 1 L 24P 4B. I ordered the prop then I got a little crazy and ordered some CMI E-tops so looks like I'll be putting this one up for sale soon. Haha.

Cole, you bought your boat from my dealership! AutoSource Dallas last year from my then partner Benny! Small world! Your boat is the reason I wanted to get one after I sold my 32' Fever. Haha.

Ahhh, I see!
I had some small issues with it last summer, and this year it's getting a rebuilt engine. |

69 with a 24p B1.
Two cylinders leaned out, #5 & #6. I had the injectors out over the winter when installing a new fuel pump and reg. I feel like that lead to it, dirt/debris in injectors. |

Out with the old, and in with the new... Got my new 4 blade B1 on and the Simrek drive shower. Also got my sunpad redone but they messed up and the logo is upside down. Arghhhhh. Would this bother anyone else?!

Yup, That would irritate me.
How many HP you think that engine has? |

How many HP you think that engine has? Based on my hardware, top speed and research I believe it has about 430-450hp. After the headers and a few other minor tweaks I think upper 400's will get me to 75. Then I'll be doing a blower over winter to push me into the 80's. |
Im hoping for ~500 after the rebuild. New cam, exhaust, and a little more compression.
|
I love this sexy boat... I honestly love it more than its bigger brothers. lol.
Got a new cockpit cover made and they're almost done installing the CMI E-Tops. Turns out they wont fit without clearancing the hatch. Doh, more $$$! :( http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psj9g95tu4.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psnbmcjl22.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j9...psgklef5u5.jpg |
Are you planning on adding hydraulic steering with the extra power?

Took her out of storage last weekend and gave her a quick shakedown run... Man I missed being on the water. First time I've taken it out since I got the CMI headers put on and the new labbed prop. Had a full tank so I couldn't do any top speed runs yet but it feels a lot more responsive mid range and up top. Hopefully I can let it all hang out this weekend!

Bob Smith (Brad's father, RIP Brad) built me a 509. Lumpy cam, new rods, Stainless Marine exhaust, and a little more compression are the high points. Little Smith painted it and the bilge, he does great work.

BTW- are the steps on these boats vented? I have a through transom fitting with hose that goes nowhere. Vented step is all I can figure.

It's a 496 by Boyd's Racing Engines out of Norman Ok. Dynoed 600 on pump gas. I am not familiar with what type of steering is on it. I bought the boat later part of last year. It was in Tyler TX.

I don't know yet, I have been working out some bugs out of the combination. The previous owner said mid 80's, but I am going to install a GPS speedo and see for myself.

Wow , keep us tuned in!

Will do, should be running it pretty soon!

If anyone is interested, she is now for sale...
http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...er-o60066.html I have decided to put up one of my favorite water toys. I have a business opportunity knocking at my door and to be safe I am liquidating some toys. This is surely one of the nicest, cleanest, well kept and tastefully modified examples of a 24CS's left in existence today. I bought this boat two seasons ago, with no intention of selling it I poured money into it with an open checkbook. All service, modifications and repairs were done at the most reputable shop in DFW (Legend Marine). They have maintained my fleet of fountains and other boats throughout the years. As far as Fountains, I've had two 32's, a 38 and a 29 all taken care of there. Feel free to reach out to Casey Freeman with any questions you may have. Under my ownership I have done the following: - Completely stripped, rebuilt and custom purple kevlar coated Magnum Trailer. - New Alloy Trailer Wheels - New Trailer Tires - New LED lights throughout trailer - Complete tune up of built 454 (plugs, wires, filters, fluids, valve cover gaskets etc. - CMI Headers - Hatch redone to fit CMI headers - Hatch pad redone with Fountain logo - Drive Shower - Labbed Mercury Prop - Billet Air Claner/Spark Suppresor - New Depth Finder - Complete Buff/Wax - New Die Hard Marine battery I have invoices for most if not all of this stuff I've done. She will do 74-75 GPS with 3/4 tank. I know it has more left in it but I haven't had the opportunity to let it all hang out. Done prior to my ownership, the 454 was built with Forged Pistons/Rods, Edelbrock Aluminum Heads (Performer RPM), Edelbrock Aluminum Intake, Holley Carb and Comp Custom Cam with supporting valvetrain upgrades. This bad boy sounds absolutely perfect after I did the CMI E-Tops. It still retains the silent choice/captains call as well. I know that there are others priced for less, I know one sold for much less than what I'm asking but please understand the quality of boat you are getting when comparing prices. I'm asking $24,800 OBO, just a fraction of what I have invested. But as we all know, boating is not a sound investment but rather a very enjoyable pass time. lol. I encourage anyone that's seriously interested to do a survey on it, I did a compression check recently and she's as strong as the day I got her with only 315 total hours on the clock and under 50 hours on the total rebuild. Thanks for looking! Here is a link to more pics, please feel free to ask any questions to me or call Casey Freeman at Legend Marine. http://www.legendmarinegroup.com/w…/...otos/17582938/ For comparisons sake, here is a link to the ad when I first purchased the boat... http://www.mcgoystoys.com/Inventory/1546/gallery.html |
