Next boat after 27???
As some of you know my 27 fever will be officially up for sale soon. If it sells well I will be saving money and paying cash for my next project. I say project because call me nostalgic but I like some of the older fountains and first couple years of the stepped boats mainly for cost and availability. So whatever I buy will be without power or drives or both. My question is what was your next fountain after a 24 or 27? If that's where you started. If you started bigger such as a ten meter or a lightning or executioner let me know your thoughts or pros and cons. All Input is valued.

Go as big as you can afford and feel comfortable trailering and that is suitable for the locations where you do your boating. Good luck with your sale...

I went from a 98, 27 fever to a 2000 38 fever and love it. Not real sure what kind of water you boat in, but as stated above go as big as you can afford. Not sure how big of a boat you have been in, but the ride difference is amazing!!

been in a couple 32 and 35 and loved it. water here isn't usually too bad but plan on hitting maybe grand lake for a poker run and def wanna do tickfaw and LOTO now and then maybe. just don't want to have to have a f450 or bigger series truck to tow it either.

I've always wanted a boat bigger (measured in feet) than my age. I.E. 30 y.o wanted a 31' plus. 40 y.o. wanted a 41' plus. It's been 16years since I achieved that and the odds of doing it again are pretty slim and getting worse!
Whatever you do, just make sure it fits your boating plans for storage, trailering and where you want to use it. There's nothing worse than having a beautiful boat and not using it, then having your wife say "I told you so!" I wish I'd have owned Fountains years ago, then I could have worked my way up. Good luck with your sale and future project. RR |
funny you say that... I've always tried to do the same (more boat ft vs age) I'm still good for a few years..lol
I went from a 27 Fountain to a 32 Sunsation .. then 35 Fountain , IMO I would go straight to the 35 Fountain, great size & does well in snotty water |
The 35 seems to be the popular choice. What about a 10meter some of them seem to be priced right. I know they're not a stepped hill etc but some seem fast.

Buy the biggest latest model year you can afford.

I would say 35 would be good. Then if you decide to jump again 42 or 47. My jump is from 272 formula to 42 but I've been on one and know its what I want. Once you determine the length you want then find the nicest one you can for the money. Newest doesn't always mean nicest. It's also what interests you and budget. If you can swing it even a single step 35 will be more efficient and quicker power for power to a straight bottom. If you use cabin look at those as they've changed. Things like that so you know you'll love it.
