It's a saltwater boat. Was the cooling system flushed when they put it in the barn eight years ago? Was anything flushed? What about the fuel system? Will you have to replace the tanks and everything downstream? Yea it's been in a climate controlled shop but was it heated for eight years without fault? Look at the corrosion on those 70 hr drives and the trim tab actuators. What about the paint blisters? Eight years is a while for a boat to go untouched and expect it to be like it was when you took off the bridle. I'm a buyer at $60k with the realization I could easily spend $15 making it the kind of boat it appears to be. Are you a buyer at $75-80k willing to do the same? That's what I based my price on and that's realistic unless you like being upside down in sh!t.

Exactly were all the proper steps taken to store it? You don't know w/ out going to look at it, telling a guy to start @ a fire sale price of $60k is a joke.

It was properly put away. The cooling system was flushed. The fuel system had a stabilizer added to it. It is stored in a high-end toy storage facility, not in grandpa's barn.

This boat will definitely need some work to get it back in business after sitting idle for that many years. I would start at a reasonable market level price based on comparable boats and see where that takes you. You can always go lower..

Why not wait until spring, have it pulled out, blow the cob web's out of it and make sure everything is in working order before deciding on a price?

It could make make a difference of a few thousand one way or the other...

If he is not hurting for money, he could always just sign the title over to me and lose the storage payment...

I can assure you after sitting eight years this boat will need a hell of a lot more than "having the cobwebs blown out of it".
