Who can/will cut down my windshield?

I have a 27' Fountain with the tall framed plexiglass windshield. Anyone within a few hours of Pikeville, KY that will cut it down to the newer style height? Depending on price, location, and project time left will determine if I get it done now or wait till next winter. Thanks for any and all suggestions/offers.

Anyone?

I heard there was a guy in Owensboro, KY who could do it / has done it. I'll see if I can get the info.

Thanks a lot. That's a reasonable distance.

I found someone that will do it. I'm very close to committing. Anyone know if the low profile windshield will still keep the wind off me?

Friend had a 2005 29 low profile windshield he said when you stand up wind is in your face when your sitting down wind is still in your face
I would go little higher than the factory low profile windshield but that is just my opinion.

Exactly what I told him by PM. Somewhere in between current and factory height. I also suggested using some masking tape across the windshield to simulate the upper rail - don't want to be staring at a rail all day or hunched over so that it is not in your line of sight.

I would also color coordinate to your boat (instead of just white) and tint the windows slightly.

Here is a 29' vs my 35' windshield. You can easily see the relationship between the headrest and upper frame on the 29' and partially see the same relationship on my 35'. Huge difference and he ate wind all day long!

Thanks guys for all the advice. Project is a no go now... I could've swore my windshield was plexiglass because when I look through it, I have a distorted view. Also have a scratch on a side glass. You know where assuming gets you... Found out yesterday it is glass. Will cost WAY more. I feel dumb now but I will admit when I'm wrong. Guess I'll find something else to do before the festivities. I am going to tint the windshield. Might paint the trailer as well! After hearing wind issues I'm not as disappointed.

I cut my 38 Lightning windshield down and went back with tinted Lexan. This was my winter project and it turned out pretty good.I went with 3/16" thick Lexan. I have a cut set of 1/4" thick Lexan that I couldn't get into the frame. Probably me. I'll sell to you for $150 shipped. I took 8" off my windshield.

Ah that sucks - I was hoping you were going to get this done. I'm interested in seeing his work.
