Default 29 Fountain Fever Interest

http://www.popyachts.com/fountain-29...in-texas-53581

Does anyone know this fountain? I am interested but would like to know some more details about it. What is a reasonable offer on a boat like this?

Also has anyone bought a boat through popyachts?

If anyone knows of any other fountain 27-29s that are a good buy, please link them. I am a very serious buyer. (I have seen mostly everything on OSO, PBL, boattrader)

There is a nice freshwater 35 fountain with 500's for the same money in central NY. Does it have to be a 29?

Im towing with a Dodge Ram 1500. I think a 35 is a tad too big??

I'm also going from a 211 Keywest CC boat and I think the jump to a 35 is a bit much for me. Maybe in 3-4 years.

I'd be willing to take a look regardless

496 is not really enough power for a 29' single! Really needs blue power.

I read the 29 with the 496HO will still do 70. Is that false? I am really looking for a boat that hits 70mph and has a motor that won't require a lot of maintenance.

price seems reasonable , I have 2003 with 525 efi, Probably a little underpowered with the 496, I would guess around mid 60s with 396, perhaps a little more with light load. The hull design and interior layout is much better than the 27s. Very pleased with mine, Most 525s will run between 76 to low 80s. You might do a little better than my guesstimate with a very good setup. the blue motors do require more service than the black( valve springs 250 hrs ect) My advice would be to go with a single eng 29 unless your on open water and need twins for safety. The boat you are looking is an excellent boat if your more interested in low maint than max performance, You will love the boat if between 65-70 fills your need for speed. good luck with your purchase
