Default 96 fever hull vs newer

Looking at buying a 96 29' fever less power and drive. Comparing just the hull and interiors etc, is a '96 comparable to the newer 29 fountains or would I be better with a newer model like a 2001 - 2004?

Short answer is no. I believe in 2000 they went to the larger step which performs better. The cockpit and cabin layout also changes. I think I heard throughout the 2000's Reggie tinkered with the hull. If that's true and what did he did, I don't know. Around 2004 I think they also had the optional wrap around windshield. In my opinion it's a completely different boat.
