approx. 8,000# dry, then add 160 gal. gas, 2 riders, 2 anchors, toolbox, 2 coolers, 50# of misc. stuff you never use and old flat bottom 35's get heavy, but still run very well.

5.6% slip with 1.36 gears and 6000 rpm.... Good luck

ICU on here ran his 95 step hull across the scales and I think it came in around 8600-8800. That was with bravos.
Remember these 33-35 fountains are fly weight 30 foot boats. |

when we raced the konrad fountain of youth it was 9260 lbs hanging on the crane with nothing in it and 30 gallons of fuel in each tank ready to race. that was a 86 10 meter. that boat and my 92 35 prefer hydromotives.

she runs 83-85 on gps depending on chop, wind, load etc. I have run my Bravo 1 drives 9 seasons now without a failure, I just recently refreshed them and the gears/bearing were in great cond. |

540 Merlin3 blocks, Dart Pro1 CNC'd alum. heads, Dart port matched intakes, Eddie Marine Thunder exh.,, MSD ign. w/the black bushing,, 10 qt. oil pans w/ scraper windage trays, H beam rods, JE pistons, Holley 9022 ,800 cfm carbs. dialed in w/ several jet changes, .600/.610 Howards roller cams degreed in, 35 degree total advance.,Champion Racing spark plugs changed at 30 hours,, 8mm plug wires, big oil coolers w/thermostats, 140 degree water thermostat, no circulating water pump just a crossover.
Just the usual maintence stuff to keep her running in top cond. Bravo1's ,1.50 use Amsoil 75/110 Severe Gear oil., 28 Hydro Q4 props |
Nice!
|
so Hydromotive seems to have an edge for prop of choice...which Hydro specifically?
power is 509's, Merlin cast heads, Edelbrock intakes, Holley 850's...estimated HP is slightly above 500 each. pushing through XR's, 35 Fountain, non staggered flat bottom |
Call Hydromotive tell them what you have so they can figure which is best, also, they have an exchange program if you want to try a couple different props.
|
Nice power 253 !
My engines are similar. 496CI ,Dart Pro 1 alum heads, Solid rollers, 10.5:1 comp, 1050 Dominators on Dart intakes, CMI headers. They made 625HP... Im hoping for 85MPH...Just bought a set 30P Bravo1 props. |
Nice setup, 30P Bravo1 is equal to 28P Hydromotive, but you need to trim the Bravo's more, and the Hydro's are a sternlifter to help get the heavy rear end lifted a bit for less drag, let me know how the Bravo's work out.,, I will take a guess and say 80-82 on gps.

Lol, when i first got the fountain, one of my buddys was cracking jokes , said "when they stop making those drives, 1985" ......being that he owns a 42 with 525efis, and broke several XR's, my only reply could be "yes, but how are those new modern drives working out for you " :) |
