Default 2009 Fountain 33' Lightining Information

Ok guys where can I find info on this boat? Was it a good build? What years did they manufacture it? Was Reggie still at the helm when this boat was built? How fast? Any info would be greatly appreciated, I can't find to much on the net. What's it worth? Limited info out there. Thanks in advance!

I think they built a few of them in 2008 but ended production shortly after all the drama started at Fountain. There are a couple out there for sale that have been sitting a long time. I think it was built as a price point boat with a warranty angle to make it appealing to certain new buyers. Given the deals out there now, I would go for a 35 before I would ever consider this limited run model. It strikes me as a bit of a white elephant that was a victim of bad timing.

Tell me more. I'm sure it was built with the same quality behind the fountain name. With twin 496s @ 83mph gps isn't to shabby. Besides power I don't think there is much difference between the 35. The 35 gets extra length for the stags!

I've been in one, it reminded me of the 32 Fever, similar performance with 502s vs HOs. Size was also similar, very tight cockpit, cabin better than 32, but not as important. Resale will take a hit, if it sells! Most will go to the 35 for more choices.

There is quite the price difference to go from a 33 to the 35 of the same year. It can't be all bad. GL how did the boat perform. The new interior is very nice.

It is very similar to the 32 Fever in "feel" being a little tail heavy. There is a red one up my way that has been for sale since 2008 with no takers. It's a Fountain so there would be no difference in build quality or construction. It took advantage up the "updated" lightning interiors starting in 2007. If I were you I would drive the 33 and a 35 to compare. I think you will see a big difference that justifies any premium on a 35. I would even say consider a 35 Executioner which you could probably find for even less than any of the 33's out there. If the 33 is the boat for you, I would play hardball on the price.

This is the red orphan up my way:

I've driven a 2007 33 and own a 2005 35 Lightning w 525s. Both are great boats. The 33 actually sat in the water similar to my 35 (w side by side motors). I believe the 33 was introduced in 2007, but fell victim to the 2008/09 economic crash. Not sure when they stopped producing it but 2009/10 may have been the last year. The 33 is all Fountain with full hydraulic steering, Livorsi Gauges and high quality hardware and interior. It came with the 496 HO only and a list price of $250k. The 33 has the new interior compared to 2006 and older 35s. Are you looking at the 2009 33 in Quebec? It looks like the Sutters Marine (Canandaigua NY) boat which I also saw, also a beautiful boat. PM me if you want to talk. I might have a Fountain brochure with the 33 specs. Will let you know.
