If the bravo's used to hook up and they are now experiencing excessive slip it probably means that something is amiss. Could be anything from mis-adjusted toe on the drives to hook in the hull.
I checked the toe setting on the drives and I think the front (near transom) was 1/4" more than the rear |
Were you turning 30 Maximus to redline on your 496 HO?

That's what I've been told, Personally have only ran 32 4's and 30 5's on my boat and I went back and forth with bblades 3-4 times with my 4 blades because my boat only pulls till a hair above neutral on trim then slips and falls off, had my original 32's worked with 3 different formulas that should of allowed me to trim higher and ended up back with a set of box stock 32 bravos, the 30 maximus I can trim higher and boat still pulls. Obviously the 5th blade helped cut slip down. I am interested in lowering my cruise rpm so hope to try a set of 32 maximus or even 34 bravos this summer.

It's been a few years since I checked that on my Fever but I believe the Fountain peeps said the nose of the drives should toe in about an 1/16 or an 1/8th vs the center of the prop shafts. Sounds like you are toeing out instead of in.
Can someone else confirm that? You are correct as stated. Fountain recommend setting is "toe in", R&M's set up is "toe out" |
If props spin in ^^^^^^^
At least my understanding. |

So if your props are spinning in changing the toe to 1/16 in is the first thing I'd try - cheapest too. :) |
