Default Considering going to look at this 40' Lightning

Good morning, I'm considering flying out to look at this and have it survyed if I get that warm fuzzy feeling.
Does the Fountain crowd have any unsight into this particular boat or to strait bottom 40' Lightnings in general?

Yeah, no.. I agree with you. More along the lines of high 70s, possibly touching 80..
But I digress. All nit picking aside I'd really like some constructive input about the hull itself
and areas of interest/concern etc etc..

I was pointing out the fact that the boat is being misrepresented, you asked for any insight about the hull,I figured that since I have owned one for 13 years I could at least point that out,be careful and good luck.

Good point Brian, thanks.
The broker listed that on ebay. I dunno why they feel the need to embelish the truth, same with the 1/2T pickup statement. Any other insight about the boat?

Bring a phenolic hammer and a moisture meter, most 26 year old boats are wet.

A structural surveyer I'm not but I can sniff around with some tutelage Brian. Where do they typically develope moisture issues in that hull? Do they have similar transom issues as early TGs or Flat decks like tab mounting bolts in way of stringers? Are they known to crack on the lifting strakes like early Cafes?
