Yea, me too. This boat is one of my favorites for sure.

Thanks for the kind compliments. We really love the boat also, definitely my favorite one I've owned. Really love the way it runs, it will cruise endlessly at 105. Not to bad for a 525 efi based engines. We are working on an upgrade for next winter. We would like to go play with the outboard cats. Dustin Whipple did the tune on these engines, and talking to him I believe with the new gen 5, 3.8 liter blowers we can easily achieve what we need. I want to retain all the mercury smartcraft systems, and this setup will allow that. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who is using this new system.

The boat was outfitted with a battery isolator from the factory. Both alternators were wired directly into the isolator them from there off to the 3 batteries. Doing some research I found out that these isolators rob between 1 to 1.5 volts. So we did away with the isolator and wired the alternator up direct. Used a smart solenoid to separate batteries.
results are 13.8 to 14.1 volts to batteries.
The smartcraft did throw a low voltage code a few times. So this should solve any issues.

I skim back and forth through this thread from time to time, extremely useful. What smart solenoid did you go with?

Sea Dog replaced the battery isolator. There was already one in the boat for the stereo battery.
