Its recommended to run a 3/4 inch pickups with -12 line to water separator then -12 to pump. Also keeping pump no higher than the tank and also as close as possible. So we will be designing new mounting plates for the water separator and fuel pumps to be mounted on forward bulkhead. This will keep everything close and low. When imco built my tanks I had them use 3/4 inch pickups. When choosing filters make sure they can handle the flow and still achieve your needed micron rating. Then make sure your filter head doesn't restrict you down on flow. I run Caterpillar water separator so we are having to modify a peterson head to work with the filter thread. I'm going to use a Weldon pump. I probably will get this done before this summer so I can try it on my n/a engines.

Back in 2000 a guy in my boathouse ordered a new 42 Lighting from Reggie with 1200 Cobras. It was a pretty radical boat at the time - at least for Lake Cumberland. For a few years the boat would show up for a month or so then an engine would let go and the boat would disappear for the rest of the summer. His best friend at the time was an ex-drag boat racer and also in our boathouse. He kept telling the owner and Reggie and Cobra that the fuel system was ****. Too many 90's were in it for one thing. It was starving the engines but no one would listen. Cobra would just rebuild the engine and boom. After going through 3 1200 Cobras in 2 years (and the expense involved) he traded out of the 42 and wound up with a big cruiser. He's never owned another performance boat since.

It's obvious to see that you are doing everything on this boat the right way. Just an awesome build.

I have some Herrings pretty close to that if you're interested. BBlades did some work to them, they may measure closer to 31" per the prior owner of them. They are like new....

New props are here. 17.25 diameter 31 pitch 15 deg rake. Old ones 17 x 30 x 18

Those props probably cost more than my whole boat did. Beautiful.

Would like to thank everyone who followed along. The boat went to a new home today. I have some medical issues I'm dealing with so haven't been able to do much with the boat. Maybe Ethan will give updates on it from time to time. Hope you all have a great end of your summer!
