Pulling motors
I just finished pulling the 2nd motor in my 32 Fever, and have no clue how its all going back together, I pulled them both with the exhaust manifolds on and had a heck of time getting to motor mount bolts. Has anyone here ever done this and how did you reinstall them? also I keep hearing about using the tool to align them when they go in but I don't see anyway for any adjustment with the offshore style mounts??? Any advice is appreciated.

Did you pull the drives before removing the engines
|
Yes pulled drives first then pulled motor

They are a bitc h to work on. You may have to go back in without the inside manifolds or any at all. Then they are really fun to install later.

Correct the off shore mounts don't have adjustment, the alignment tool is to make sure the input shaft of the drive and the coupler is at the correct angle if this is a bravo boat

565532[/ATTACH Did you take on to much? I have always pulled off exhaust manifolds first unless the bolts are frozen. Get as much out of the way before you lift the motors out.

I didn't think there was any adjustment, so in a perfect world it should just go right back together I suppose

Yea those inside motor mounts look fun, as does installing the manifolds in the boat...

there should of been fiber washers between the inner transom plate and the bellhousing, just make sure it goes back in that way

Pulled mine in my 32 a few times, Get a longer punch to run thru the holes of the motor mount & off shore bracket. Gives you the ability to move the motor pretty easily & run a bolt thru. Find someone with really long arms or someone short & skinny to able to lay down. Mine had aluminum brackets on the stringers to be able to stand or lay on if you can get down there. Tape those fiber washers to bell housing too. I always left the exhaust on.
