New Fountain people not much help. However, as MN35 said. The cylinder is a damper. Just to keep door from slamming shut. If you remove the slide brackets from top and bottom of door it will angle and slide out. I bought the plastic slides from Fountain. Then I sanded and polished the slide brackets. Then applied Super Slick silicone spray. It drys to a nice film. It now slides almost to easy. I'm happy with results.
