Default 27 fever motor needs more air

Here is the issue I build a solid motor been have tuning issues.Well the other day I was out testing and cracked the hatch for the motor about 2 inch I picked up about 200 rpm and the afr gauge went from 14 to 14.6 this at a crus rpm at 4k at 50 mph

i do not want to add a scoop to the hatch i'm wondering if anyone modified the side scoops to get more air in it if so do you have any pictures or any ideas or suggestions

Default More Air

Try opening the four compartments doors down by the floor in cock pit and see if that gives you the same result. They are open to engine compartment.. if so make some louvered doors and save originals

Default Air

Also the fountain lights on both sides on rear seat if removed will let air into engine compartment

I had the same deal. but 100 rpms.. On my 92 I was able to make the side vents 50% bigger without making the boat look any different.. Opening the storage puts more fumes in the cockpit ( on mine anyway , I had a leaky gas tank ) . Hope this helps
