29 Fever
 

Hey all, got a couple questions. I have been window shopping for a while now. I sold my Nordic Heat a couple seasons back, then took care of a friends Sunsation for a while. I sold the Heat because my ego said to go big, or go home. Well, after being the dad of the 32 Sunsation for a while, I realized I didn't want bigger anymore. My time in the Army was cut short by a myriad of medical problems that unfortunately will not be going away. Physically I had a hard time with maintenance. So, smaller is ok.

I also got to play at Loto last year on Harbor Hop day and realized I would like a boat meant for slop. So, here I am. I have been drooling over some beautiful 2005ish Fever 29s and would like some input from you fine folks. The Heat was good size, had a large cabin, but not the greatest in rough conditions. I can only assume the fever would handle better? I am also unsure whether to go single or twin 6.2s. I do my own maintenance, and obviously more room in the single bay, but small blocks in my opinion are fairly easy to maintain. Any input there as far as handling? I boat on Texas lakes and would like to travel up to loto again for a couple weeks when the day comes. Not much for Ocean boating because cleaning the salt hurts my heart.

my kids are small right now, hell...i am still a little guy even. How is the cabin size compared to, say, a heat? Anyone have experience with both? Is this the sort of boat that I will want to go bigger again after a couple seasons, or will it hopefully satisfy my need for speed fairly comfortably.

Gotcha, I am fully o.k. with a big single for sure. If it does ok on loto, it should excel on all my lakes haha. Is your cabin fairly usable? My boys are 3 and 5 now, so still small lol. Thanks for your reply!

it was an honor to have served! The army made a lot of things possible for me and introduced me to amazing people. It was a good experience.

You might consider a 32 with twin small blocks also, the ride and room is a lot better and no more maintenance than a 29 with twin small blocks. That being said, even a 32 will be small at loto sometimes.

Haha, that I learned! The Sunsation Dominator SS I had on loto in October felt tiny relative to the water and the other ballers up there. I need to get my hands on a 29 and a 32 and see how they feel. Loto and lakes like that will be a vacation run, not the norm, but I do want some stability and capability for those times. Boat on week-days if you can. I regularly run my 22 Donzi on Lakes Huron, Erie & St. Clair and Lake Michigan 3 times. All the cruisers and the madness on week-ends mean heading straight for the raft-ups.

The 29' cockpit is bigger than the 32' cockpit. 27' and 32' basically same cockpit.
