Ive always heard a 29 is faster than a 27 with the same power. I know the owners(current and previous) of a 27 and a 29 on the same lake, both with 496s and both are 2002+ models. The 27 is defiantly faster. Maybe big horsepower is different because of handling or???

I had a 2000 27 650 hp and it was not comfortable (to me) with that much power.

I built a 500 efi that wasnt dynoed for a 99 27 fountain (might be a 2000/2001) , probably 580 ish hp, boat runs 79 gps pretty easy in ideal conditions, IDK how a 99 hull compares to a 97 though, Smitty
